Dear Reader,

I’ve been a high school English teacher for more than three decades and if I’ve learned anything during this time, it is this: Everything I am and think and do informs my work as a teacher. I bring my whole self to my classroom and that doesn’t just mean my knowledge of my subject; It means my love of language and art, my passion for travel, my commitment to social justice and my deep belief in the power of being present and mindful.

I write about all of these things and how they manifest in my pedagogy and teaching practices. If you are a teacher or a learner, or both, I hope you will find something here that resonates with you or maybe even inspires you. And, please, leave your email, so that I can know you too.

Let’s work together

I am always looking for opportunities to collaborate with other educators and to share best practices and ideas. I have facilitated professional development workshops on mindfulness and meditation and specifically on how to utilize these ideas and strategies effectively in high school classrooms. Let’s communicate if you think I might be able to help you roll out a meditation program in your classroom or in your school.
